BBC Woodlands Redevelopment

Woodlands was located at 80 Wood Lane, London W12 0TT immediately north the intersection with A40(M). The BBC acquired the land in 1981 for £28M and erected two large main office blocks and several ancillary buildings. The majority of facilities were on first floor with a strategic placement of roadways under this at ground floor level where equipment and store rooms were located. They sold The Langham, the home of the BBC’s ‘commercial arm’ BBC Enterprises, which was located opposite Broadcasting House in Upper Regent Street and moved them to these new offices.

BBC Planning & Installation Department
For many years planning and installing staff had ben located at a number of premises, notably W,X,Y,Z. In order to reduce building costs and to increase the utilisation of expertise these staff were also moved to Woodlands.
