Origins

In 2015 a number of like-minded artists had the vision that everyone should see that art is for everyone. They wanted to showcase their work. By 2016 a number of local companies had been asked to contribute towards the modest cost of these local people opening up their homes to display some of their artistic skills and towards the advertising, website presence and map production thereby involved.

It was a brave move by those involved and in my humble opinion and works superbly well because all the visitors so far have respected these intrepid artists. I hope that this continues.

Photographs Are Poor !

Photographs can never replace going to seeing any piece of art directly. You cannot see it in the best of light, nor view it from a variety of viewpoints nor soak in its atmosphere or experience your reaction to it. A photograph remains a dull, flat, poor image. During BEAT you will most likely meet the actual artist, which is the whole point, and understand their motivations, difficulties and enthusiasm for what they have produced. That experience cannot be conveyed here. These photographs are of reduced resolution and merely available to encourage you to get up and go to see the work. It is possible to copy these pictures but please respect these artists by not distributing their material. If you wish to do so then you should contact them directly through the official website.
