Scooter Hire

If you fancy a change from being in the dark underground MRT to sight seeing overground then scooting is a good way. These are battery powered with a range of hourly or daily deals available. Maximum actual scooting time is about 4 hours (continuous) but it’s unlikely that you will travel non-stop. There is a battery state indicator. I hired for a whole day at a time (actually twice I enjoyed it so much) and managed to negotiate borrowing the battery charger unit for the day. It’s small weighing about 1kg. When I stopped for lunch I topped it up to give me more range. You need to use your common sense. These machines are capable of 18kmh which, just 2” above ground, is quite fast enough. Far better to ride slowly and mindful of people, kerbs and obey all restrictions which ideally means not on narrow pavements. Roads can be busy too so be wise. Do not ride wildly and you will be like all Singaporeans: safe, respectful and having a nice day.

Introduction Video

I have produced a very quick video of what Singapore was like during my visit in 2017. I absolutely loved every minute. I had my own flat (via AirBnB) and 10days was not enough. If there was enough interest I would upgrade the video to give more detail. You will find the first few minutes describe what we did. I’d recommend all these events.

The video is best viewed on a desk computer not a mobile. See Introduction To Singapore.mov

(Quality: I have noticed that unless you have a really good connection this video will stream badly (pixelation and hesitations) therefore I’d recommend that you download it and view it on your favourite video viewer (most people use VLC but any will do))

Here is some of the most expensive real estate in the world. Yet it prides itself in being easily the safest place to live and work and play. The entire island is about half the size of London with the downtown area in the south quite easily explored on foot. Many of these facts are based upon my visit in 2017.
