Clues To The Past

Located on an isolated single track back-road St Allen is actually only a parish with no village centre. The hamlet’s first mention is in 1269AD. The parish church seemed to have a new car park in 2009.
The little postbox on the bottom right here says “Jarvis Egg Co”. However I can find no reference to that on the internet.

Standing amidst carefully maintained grounds of around 1.2 acres, Trerice Farm is an outstanding country residence that offers exceptional family accomodation presented to the highest of standards. Although records indicate a house on site since the 1400’s it is believed that the current dwelling was constructed in the mid-19th century with the wall of the courtyard possibly delineating the larger previous building.

There are so few houses anywhere near the parish church that this is the only property that I can find. The present building is not original as described by the estate agent selling it:
